Green Pea Rice Pilaf

Ingredients

  • White, Brown, Red, Black or White Rice 1.5 cup
  • Water – 3 cup
  • Green peas – 1 cup
  • Cumin seeds – 1 teaspoon
  • Chopped Onion – 41641 whole onion
  • Oil (sunflower, olive or peanut) – 1 tablespoon
  • Salt – to taste

  • Wash the rice and remove the water
  • Heat a medium sized pan on medium heat and add the oil
  • Once the oil is hot, add the cumin seeds. 
  • Once cumin seeds are brown add the chopped onion ad stir fry until soft (do not let the onions turn brown)
  • Add the peas and rice. Reduce heat and stir
  • Add the water, salt and mix well
  • Transfer to the rice cooker and set rice to cook
